Aerial photos taken in 2021 on a 3-hour flight over the cities of Santarém, Placas, Rurópolis, Miritituba and Itaituba, down the Tapajós River towards Santarém and Alter do Chão back. The color of the river you see is not natural. The phenomenon happens due to the interaction of soy powder with the natural algae of the Tapajós River. In the region of Miritituba, BR 163, is located one of the main ports for the flow of soybeans from southern Pará and northern Mato Grosso.
